Meet the speakers!

Speakers include local, regional, national and European elected officials, civil servants, magistrates, security professionals, social workers, researchers, representatives of the private sector and civil society, experts and representatives of European institutions and international organisations. They will speak at the Security, Democracy & Cities conference to discuss the security and crime prevention challenges facing local authorities.

The conference opens on Wednesday March 20 with speeches by Willy Demeyer, Mayor of Liège and President of Efus; Ahmed Aboutaleb, Mayor of Rotterdam (Netherlands) and Vice-Presdient of Efus; Fabrice Cumps, Mayor of Anderlecht (Belgium); Alexis Goosdeel, Director of the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA); Jan Olbrycht, Chairman of the Urban Environment Intergroup at the European Parliament; and Ine Van Wymersch, National Commissioner for Drugs (Belgium).
