Assistant in the Political Science Department at the University of Liège (Belgium)

Vincent Aerts currently works as an an assistant at the Institut de la Décision Publique at the University of Liège. His research focuses on democracy and political representation. He first worked on the status of local elected representatives, focusing on the resignations of municipal representatives in Wallonia (Belgium). He is currently working on a doctoral thesis (PhD) on the reappropriation and reconceptualisation of the concept of democracy by political representatives in the context of parliamentary work on three democratic innovations: the drawing of lots, the imperative mandate and the referendum.
