Security in cities is a major social and political issue. European cities and regions will gather at the Security, Democracy & Cities conference to discuss this democratic challenge, 3 months ahead of the upcoming European elections.

The conference, which coincides with the Belgian presidency of the Council of the European Union, is an opportunity to exchange views with EU decision-making bodies, three months ahead of the European elections.

The results of the conference will feed into the European Security Strategy 2025-2029, and serve as the basis for policy recommendations to national governments and EU decision-making bodies to reaffirm the role of cities and local authorities as essential partners in European security.
