Sarah Van Praet

Researcher, National Institute of Criminalistics and Criminology (INCC) and Lecturer, Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB)

Sarah holds a degree in Law from Vrije Universiteit Brussel and a degree in criminology from the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). In 2017 she defended her thesis in criminology at the ULB and joined the INCC's criminology department in July. Her research has focused on various topics most often concerning youth and/or the police. In particular, she has worked on action research, funded by UNIA, on the identification and joint development, with stakeholders in the field, of appropriate responses to various issues related to police selectivity practices and mechanisms. She is currently working on the impact of new technologies on local police forces. She is also a lecturer at the ULB and a senior lecturer at the Haute École Louvain en Hainaut (HeLHa).
