Mónica Diniz

Head of Prevention, Security and International Relations, Lisbon Municipal Police (Portugal)

Mónica Diniz is a sociologist and Head of the Prevention, Security and International Relations Department of the Lisbon Municipal Police. With a master's degree in sociology and planning, she has evolved in the field of police-citizen cooperation, focusing mainly on the implementation of bottom-up collective approaches to crime prevention and community policing projects. She participates in international cooperation projects in the field of urban security, notably on community policing, crime prevention through urban planning and intercultural approaches to Security and security issues. She is a trainer and co-author of several publications on community policing.

Mónica holds a degree in sociology from the FCSH-Universidade Nova de Lisboa and a master's degree in sociology and planning from the ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon, with a thesis on community policing.
