Marc Coester

Professor of Criminology, Berlin School of Economics and Law (Germany)

Following his studies in educational science at the University of Tübingen (Germany), Marc Coester worked as a social worker. As a research assistant at the Institutes of Criminology of the Universities of Tübingen and Marburg, he wrote his doctoral thesis on the subject of hate crimes. Between 2006 and 2014, he worked for the Prevention Council (Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice) in the field of right-wing extremism prevention and crime prevention qualification. Since 2014, he has been Professor of Criminology at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (Police Management and Security Department). He recently set up a master's course in criminology and crime prevention.
