Macarena Rau Vargas is an architect with a master's degree and doctorate in urban planning, and experience in managing international urban safety projects.

She is a specialist in crime prevention through environmental planning, a method that has proved its worth in the implementation and evaluation of violence and delinquency prevention projects, and has experience of applying and teaching this method in many countries around the world.

She is president of the International CPTED Association, president and founder of the Corporation for the Prevention of Crime through Environmental Design in Chile, and director and founder of Publika Consulting Company.
