Committee of the Regions rapporteur on the EU roadmap to combat drug trafficking and organized crime, European Committee of the Regions (ECR group)

Matteo Luigi Bianchi is a member of the local assembly of Varese in Lombardy (Italy). He is the Committee of the Regions' rapporteur on the EU roadmap for combating drug trafficking and organized crime. He has been a member of the Committee of the Regions since 2015, where he represents the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group. He was mayor of Morazzone (Varese province, Lombardy) for 10 years. Mr. Bianchi was a member of the Italian Parliament between 2018 and 2022 and Vice-Chairman of the EU Policy Committee. He was also vice-president of the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI). He holds a degree in political science and international relations.
