Executive Director, Belgian Forum for Urban Security (BeFUS)

Laetitia Nolet, a criminologist and nurse by training, has been coordinating BeFUS asbl since 2008, where she works actively to strengthen collaboration between the various parties involved in local urban safety and social prevention policies. Her role involves the day-to-day management of the association, as well as setting up partnerships with Belgian towns and municipalities and with the European Forum for Urban Safety (Efus). Her objective is to develop the association's strategy in order to promote the exchange of best practice, training and discussion between Belgian and European local authorities. Its commitment to an integrated approach to local security and social issues, and to fostering collaboration between local players and their partners in the police and voluntary sector, help to strengthen community life in neighborhoods and support local elected representatives and municipal professionals.
