Managing Director, Housing First (Germany)

As a social worker, Julia Von Lindern developed and implemented Housing First for the first time in Germany at fiftyfifty, the Düsseldorf street magazine. Housing First provides assistance for homeless, drug-using and mentally ill people. The project attracted nationwide attention and other projects in Germany followed the innovative approach of Düsseldorf. She later founded the federal association Housing First together with colleagues from Berlin, Bremen, Cologne and Nuremberg. Almost 30, and therefore 3/4 of all Housing First services in Germany, are now organised by this association. The association is now working on the nationwide implementation of Housing First in Germany.
