David Robertson

Chief Superintendent, Divisional Commander - Edinburgh Division, Police Scotland (Scotland)

Chief Superintendent David Robertson is the Local Policing Commander for Greater Glasgow Division of Police Scotland, where he is responsible for policing the country’s most challenging territorial Division.

Over the last 21 years, David has developed substantial experience in community policing, specialist operations and Counter Terrorism. David specialises in event and public order Command, CBRN, protective security, de-escalation and human rights. Last year David had the privilege of leading Police Scotland’s response in Edinburgh to the death of the late Queen Elizabeth II and the subsequent celebrations to mark the coronation of King Charles III.

Over the last 5 years David has worked across Europe, the U.S. and Columbia promoting de-escalation and a rights-based approach to policing protests.
