Bert Hoffer

Director of Private Security, Belgian Federal Public Interior Service (Belgium)

Bert Hoffer has been involved in private security policy in Belgium for over 15 years. He is Director of the Security and Prevention Department of the Belgian Federal Public Service of Home Affairs, where he is responsible for the development and application of private security and private investigation regulations. This includes proactively controlling the players in these sectors through an authorization policy, facilitating public-private cooperation in this field, and guaranteeing reliability and quality in the conduct of activities in this sector. Bert Hoffer chaired the most recent European Round Table on Private Security, at which the competent public authorities from EU member states met to discuss the current and future challenges of private security management.
