Chief Superintendent Benoît Blanpain began his career in the Belgian police forces just under 30 years ago. He worked for both the local police and the Belgian federal police. As Director of Operations for a local police area in Brussels for the past ten years, he is convinced of the importance of an integrated and comprehensive cross-sectoral approach to societal security issues, and bases most of his police response on the principles of Community-oriented Policing. As Chairman of the Belgian Intersection Network, he promotes the identification and circulation of inspiring practices to constantly improve the quality of relations between the police and citizens.
